The watch business is a complex one, particularly when it involves importing and exporting parts together with onsite assembly. Right from the start, TDS understood our needs. Canadian Coffee Bean Company
  • Challenge

One of our clients is a Canadian fair trade ethical coffee bean company. They were looking to get distribution and grow their business in Hong Kong but did not have any contacts here.

  • Action
First, we arranged to ship their samples to Hong Kong, ensuring they arrived on time and in good condition. Using our extensive contacts network, we then set up meetings with two of the leading coffee shop chains in Hong Kong. This was all done as a value-added service.
  • Result
The meetings were successful and our client is now doing business in Hong Kong with distribution through chains as well as other second tier outlets.
Collectors car
  • Challenge
One of our clients approached us wanting to ship his Jaguar XJ220 from the UK to his home in Hong Kong. He wanted us to handle everything from shipping right through to registration with the Hong Kong Transport Department.
  • Action
As this rare collector’s car is worth over GBP150,000 (HKD1.72m) the first thing we did was arrange a fully comprehensive insurance policy for the vehicle. As part of that process, we hired a Jaguar specialist to act as a surveyor and inspect the car prior to loading.
We also arranged to have the car undergo a noise & emissions tests which is compulsory in Hong Kong for imported cars of a certain age. Working closely with our UK branch, we then arranged for all the appropriate paperwork to be completed including the import declaration. Once the car arrived we then completed the vehicles registration.
